BF3 server looking for a new home.

Post by McGarnicle »

I'm tired of being over charged and mis-charged by Multiplay for a 64 player server that crashes constantly, never appears on battlelog, and kicks everyone at the end of a round. I'm tired of constantly being referred to a wall-of-text readme file for their crap clanforge admin tool. I'm tired of being told things can't be done when i just finished playing all day on servers doing that very thing. I'm tired of their techguy holier than thou response to my (admittedly newb) questions.

The only reason I'm there is I got in on their $1 per slot pre-sale sale. I'd like to know if NFO can/will meet that price so I can get the F outta there.

Hi,

I am sorry to hear you are having issues with your current provider. If you go to our order page you can see some exact prices.

https://www.nfoservers.com/order.php

Unfortunately BF3 is a game that is full of bugs at the moment and NFO is no exception :(

However with our network and fast machines along with Johns knowledge of everything, we do our very best to help minimize it and create potential work arounds.

Here are couple of links I would like you to check out before making a decision to switch;

https://www.nfoservers.com/networklocations.php

Along with this we employ a custom coded in house control panel which makes administrating your server extremely simply and with our admin daemon which can change your server slots on the fly to get your server populated, I am sure you wont be disappointed with the switch.

Please feel free to browse our forums and read customers testimonials and what our users are saying about our BF3 servers. If you have any additional questions you would like addressed please post here or open a support request so one of our staff can assist you!

Happy searching :)
@Kraze^NFo> Juski has a very valid point

@Juski> Doesn't matter!
@Juski> You said I had a valid point! You can't take it back now! It's out there!

to OP - even if you cant get the $1 per slot price, i would gladly pay more for NFO servers ... most of the cluster f*ck of problems are the same ones experienced in BFBC2 on release.

once EA pulls their heads out and fixes everything, youll be more than happy that you are at NFO ... :lol:

I have found that NFO is dealing with the problems better than other providers with exceptional service. They demand more for this and get it.

One idea - you can lower your slot count and hopefully reduce your lag.

I understand that Dice has really dropped the ball on the server side of this thing. and most players are simply unaware because they never have to deal with any of this. My main gripe is that rather than explain the situation like any rational 35+ year old would explain it to their mom, the guys are multiplay explain things as if you're all taking a break from writing in cobal to post nuisance questions. the response usually being 'ask Dice'. I'm just tired of getting that treatment for my minecraft server and now for my BF3 server.

That said, there's a pretty big price disparity, $64 there vs $95 here. Still hoping for a price match.

Our prices stem from our actual costs. We underload high-end hardware and InterNAP bandwidth to ensure the best possible performance and most reliable services, which leads to a costs that are a bit higher than bargain hosts. We've found that higher quality services result in higher customer satisfaction, and our customers usually find that this also results in a larger community and more donations. Quite a few have reported switching from lower-end hosts and seen an uptick in support from their community members that more than compensated for the price difference :).

We can't do price matching because of this service/quality/cost disparity, but keep an eye out for sales.

You get what you pay for. If you are looking for "cheap" , you have come to the wrong place.
If your looking for quality, look no further

seriously look no further. I have been with many other providers over the years. I have never seen anyone else who is so quick to respond and help solve your problems no matter what they are. Their customer service is top notch. Also Edge is 100% right about the server stuff and the quality shows in every server you have. 100% satisfied.

NFo is very good, their support is top notch and Internap Bandwidth is not cheap.

You get what you pay for.
Here is what you can do to save money:

You can do this, get a 2 core VDS managed, then buy the BF3 slots, it would be cheaper.
2 core VDS = $49.99
64 slots x.25 per slot. = $16

Total: $65.98

I am surprised NFo didn't mention this option to him.
Plus as long as you have good cpu usage, you can host other servers too.
https://www.nfoservers.com/order-virtua ... server.php

If your VDS can't handle it you can cancel within 2 days (free trial) so you don't get charged for.
