Installing Template Halp!

Post by J-English »

Installing phpbb3 styles is not a problem...Normally comes in 1 folder that i upload via FTP >Public>STYLES,Then i would log into my ACP control panel as administrator, and activate the template from there which is all good.

But...

I have a Forum template from templatemonster.
It contains the following folders sub folders :
screenshots
site
site_flash
sources

Screenshot folder contains >few pics and web link to preview your header flash
site folder contains>HTML folder >Images(folder) >few web links to preview>style sheet
site_flash folder contains >flash folder> images folder>index web links and style
Sources folder contains :folders
clipart library
flash
fonts
psd

how do i implement this into phpbb3 ?.

That looks to be more of a website template instead of an actual PHPbb theme.

I am thinking that it is the same thing. Are you sure it is not like a CMS theme or a Vbulletin theme..etc?

Do you have a link to the template? If I can see it on template monster I can most likely determine what it is.

EDIT"
Actually after viewing your screen shots better, I can assure you it is a website template. I am seeing Index-1.html and Index-2.html.

As of now yes, unless you plan on making a new website.

I doubt that's a phpbb template, and that's definitely not a vbulletin template.

From the looks of it, it looks like it's a HTML template.

I believe template monster mainly sells HTML/custom templates.

Upload what's in your "site" folder in /public_html/ or inside the skins folder.

Of course before you make any changes be sure to BACKUP everything!

Ok what i did was made 2 drectories in my FTP called (animated) and (static).

my directories in my FTP are public>full-site>animated>static
I uploaded my site folder to my static directory folder to my FTP and uploaded my static_flash folder to my animated folder directory to my FTP .

now i can goto my usual website and add the extensions to the address bar by adding /full-site/static to my web address and it shows up...but after that is were im stuck, how do i edit forums etc.

Those links, forums will not work unless you code them into phpbb3

When you buy a template from template monster they do not come coded for your forum software.

Nah, as long as you have the original files you can get a coder to code that template for phpbb3.
Shouldn't be too expensive.
I'd stay away from flash, I'd suggest doing some JQuery.

I am going to move away from flash and go HTML5.
