NFO iOS App?
Hey guys,
Just wondering if you had something in the works to access the CP from a mobile device/iOS app?
I tend to access the CP a lot on the fly when I'm not at home, and it can be a bit tedious not having it formatted for mobile viewing.
Is there any plans for something like this? Or is there another method I can use?

I have not heard anything but that would be kind of cool. Can you not access it via just your regular mobile browser?
@Kraze^NFo> Juski has a very valid point

@Juski> You said I had a valid point! You can't take it back now! It's out there!

I can, but it can be a bit tricky to navigate with the zooming and panning:kraze wrote:I have not heard anything but that would be kind of cool. Can you not access it via just your regular mobile browser?

Ya I didn't take that in to account..
I am not sure if anyone on the NFO team knows how to code Android/IOS apps. Would be a nice feature though and would make us even more unique.

I use it through my mobile phone and works well.
Of course an App would make it nicer

Yup, can be done through web. Using an HTC Desire HD here. Soon to be new HTC Edge, one's it's available. Ummm, quad core phone.

The NFO control panel works great using iPhone or iPad!
Asymmetrical warfare is part of the modern battlefield; deal with it.

Re: NFO iOS App?
It works, but you still have to zoom in and out. I'm sure its possible to make a mobile version that just has bigger buttons.
Re: NFO iOS App?
You can, and the easy fix would be something that web developers tend (I say tend to because its been argued not practical in certain situations) to use.. "Responsive web design" when building a site.dapriest wrote:It works, but you still have to zoom in and out. I'm sure its possible to make a mobile version that just has bigger buttons.
For example, a website loads perfectly fine in a web browser, but on a mobile phone the page is resized, images resized, and buttons resized so that they fit perfectly within the size of a browser on a pc, tablet, and or phone.
Heres a little background info / examples

Its the easier route to go rather then building a full blown iOS /android app.

I think an even easier method would be to implement something like m.nfoservers.com/control and have a mobile formatted version by detecting the browser type and redirecting that way.wyseguy79 wrote:You can, and the easy fix would be something that web developers tend (I say tend to because its been argued not practical in certain situations) to use.. The CP is workable on a mobile device right now, but it could be improved.
Re: NFO iOS App?
If NFO is interested, there is the Titanium Mobile app that let's you take web content and create desktop, iOS and Android apps with them. Basically there is no coding involved to do this, other than the webpage of course. I only know about this because it is what Piwik Analytics uses.
Re: NFO iOS App?
On my way back from the beach I actually was thinking about NFO having an iOS app for the control panel, it would be awesome.
