What type of cs and css servers?

If they are less then 32 slots, and not using massive plugins and you don't have a need for every resource you can get, just use win2k3. it is the easiest and most stable.

I'd recommend Windows as the easiest way to go. Win2k8 R2 is the basic choice, but if you have a very small VDS, and limited memory as a result, you might consider Win2k3.

20 slots, you could get by with 1 core on win2k3.

But if you plan to heavily mod it and want to ensure no lag and possibly raising the slots, then a 2 core would be good.

I have always done at least 2 cores for cs:s game servers. So 1 core runs OS and other runs srcds.exe.

We aren't currently running any promotions for VDSes. We may in the future, though, so keep an eye out -- you can potentially refinance when we do.
