VDS/VPS compatable with games ?

Post by kkarnage »

Can I run games with a :

Single core: Perfect for 1-3 game servers or intense website. •One full, dedicated HT CPU core (Nehalem or better)
•1024 MB of RAM
•100 GB of hard drive space
•1000 GB of InterNAP bandwidth transfer

Because my server is an executable that thakes the form of my game...It's a bit complicated...
I just want to now if it can work before buying it.
On other VPS a have this error message:
"Failed to initialize drawing surfaces. Please check that your graphics card meets the minimum requirements and that your drivers are up to date. If your graphics card has little memory, try switching your computer to a lower resolution"

here is my game if someone want's to try and see if it works : http://www.mediafire.com/?66cadujbn4wdn1w.

What OS? Linux? Windows?

If Linux, what distro? Are you running it with wine?
If Windows, what version? 2003? 2008?

That particular VDS package should be able to support two game servers of mediocre load (say between 12-16 or 20 slots each, full at least 75%). Unless of course the game is Minecraft with Bukkit which requires all the ram available, lol.

If your game client requires a hardware graphics accelerator, then it unfortunately is very unlikely to work on a VDS. But, you could use the free trial to test, if you think it might.
