I'm not sure if this is better for a support ticket or not so please let me know.
I am thinking about upgrading my VDS up to a higher core package. I have also been thinking for a long time of getting my VDS moved from win 2003 to a win 2008 (losslessly, same IPs and such). I know it isn't really necessary but I may at some point want to start up a small BF3 server on it, or at the very least be prepared for any other game coming down the pike that requires 2008. I would probably want to get them both done around the same time.
The package upgrade says it will take 3 hours. I was wondering if it would it be easier/faster for everyone involved if I were to upgrade my package first, and then request the move to a 2008 machine? Or vice versa? I don't want you guys to waste 3 hours upgrading only to have to do it again on a new machine.

Re: VDS Upgrade and Move Question
The two are separate automated operations and can't really be combined, unfortunately. I would recommend doing the switch to Windows 2008 R2 first, as it might give you a "cleaner" virtual hard drive that can be moved a little more quickly.

Re: VDS Upgrade and Move Question
Oh when I said "same time" I meant like one right after the other (next day) or something. I didn't know that they were both fully automated which is why I asked what was easiest for you guys if there was any manual work involved.
Thanks for the info!
