Looking for a Server Admin 4 Hire - One Time

Post by TechOnedB »

Hello,

I am in need of hiring a server admin for a one time job. My main admin/ IT guy is out pretty much perma afk at this time. Over all circumstance is I am needing to have a complete backup of all related files on a dedicated server hosted here on NFo and then have them cloned over to a new VDS here. The group I was with is disbanding and for the biggest reason there is no need for myself to keep paying and maintaining a dedicated box.

The box runs a CentOS 5.5, along with SMF 1.1.15 (would like to have this upgraded), EDK (EVE Development Network Killboard ver. 4.0.3 (Crucible), Teamspeak 3 ver. 3.0.0 rc1 (needs updated)

So what I'm looking for is someone that can backup and move all the files, update all relevant software. I would like to keep the above services live so I can assist with domain pointing. Please reply or pm me so we can talk on about the job. I am more than willing to pay the individual that can assist me in this, either by paypal or I can pay directly to your coffer here on NFo. I have been a very happy customer with NFo here for many years. I have been working with them since 2007, and plan to stay just downsizing hardware and the overhead costs.

Thanks

Sean

Here is my personal suggestion:

You can do all of that yourself with little help from the community if you need assistance.
Shouldn't be a task that would require more than few hours.

Make sure you DO NOT upgrade anything until everything is moved over to the new VDS.
You will have to replicate the current setup to the new machine so you do not run into any issues with compatibility.
Once everything is moved and everything works 100% then you can start the upgrade process.
Be sure to make a backup for your files and SQL database before the upgrade.

Now, if the above is too complicated then just use the shared NFo web hosting...all you have to do is backup the whole site including the database and then re-upload everything to the nfo hosting.

NFo shared hosting is really good, rock solid.
