banned.cfg/writeid not working

Hi

I've been to the irc channel for help, and problem not solved so I come here hoping for answers

Today I realized that bans aren't writing to the cfg file. I tried this from hlsw rcon AND the control panel. Neither worked. Currently there are about 76 bans.

Here is what I type:

banid 0 "STEAM_0:0:xxxxx" (quotes seemed to work in-game)
writeid
listid

And the ban does not list.

I went in-game to try this, and I found when I used quotes, the ban wrote. When I typed "listid" the ban was there, however it was the only one there. It only showed that one ban on the list, even though there are over 70 bans.

THEN I went back to HLSW and typed "listid" and the 76 bans showed up but the ban I just set in-game was not there.

Tried this in the CP, did not work.

Wonderbra was able to get the ban to write, using hlsw. We pondered the idea that it might be my Netgear router blocking some ports...however, it does not appear that HLSW or the router is the problem, because I have another pub server with a different provider, and was able to successfully write many bans to the list, using the sequence above.

Any ideas? I'm really stumped

would help if we knew what version of HLSW you are using.

you and wonderbra could be using different versions.

I'm using the latest version

1.0.0.11 beta

was able to use this version to write bans to my other server just fine

I've been able to writeid and bans using my setup, not using any router at all.

If wonderbra can write and I can, but you cant, must be on the client side most likely.

Instead of typing:

banid 0 "STEAM_0:0:xxxxx"
writeid
listid

When you are in the game, you need to type:

rcon banid 0 "STEAM_0:0:xxxxx"
rcon writeid
rcon listid

I too am having the same problem...if i amx_voteban my self (don't ask...i'm trying to square away permissions for my lower level admins) my steam id don't show up in the banned.cfg. but i'm banned...
i can unban my self through rcon...and if i do the writeid it works after restart...
but...if i voteban myself and then restart the server the ban is lifted

it's like it's not writing to the file

amx_voteban is not a perma ban it's a 30 min ban....
