I have a question about remote desktop display speed

Post by vigneshr »

When I watch videos on my vps remote desktop

It lags very much and I can see the video frame by frame

Can anyone tell me how to fix that?

Thanks,
Vignesh

There is really no fix for that, That is RDP for you. :/

Why are you watching videos over your VDS, if you don't mind me asking?
@Kraze^NFo> Juski has a very valid point
@Juski> Got my new signature, thanks!
@Kraze^NFo> Out of context!
@Juski> Doesn't matter!
@Juski> You said I had a valid point! You can't take it back now! It's out there!

The latency between you and the remote machine, your client's limited download speed, and the inherent limitations in the remote desktop protocol lead to this. Remote desktop is not designed to be used for streaming video, but for server administration.

If you are using the VDS to access location-restricted video content, you should consider running a proxy on it instead of using its desktop for this.
