This is used for general discussion that is not necessarily server-related.

Suggestion: console.log Toggle

Post by ThatBum »

Hello, hello, and thrice hello. It occurred to me that having a toggle for console.log on Source servers would be nice to have for debugging purposes, instead of having to contact support about it. The file can get very big very fast, yes. However, maybe a script can be set up to kill the server and restart it with -condebug off after an amount of time, or simply to kill it as soon at it's reachable, since all the useful stuff is displayed during startup, and everything else can be seen afterwards with log 1.

Your input is appreciated. This is something that has been on my "to do" for a long time and it is good to be reminded that some still might want it.

Yep yep yep. Also, something I discovered today, if the cvar sv_logfile is 0, then rcon can be used without also making a logfile, saving some disk space. Suggest the logging enabled checkbox toggles both log 0 and sv_logfile 0.
