Above is a tracert from me to our gameserver.

Question is, with it showing 100% packet loss in spots, is this an issue that needs looking into?

Reason I am asking, is that EA has requested this from me to figure out why I keep getting errors when updating BF3. They supplied me with a tool "Ultima Online Trace Utility". Figured I would ask here since EA takes 6-8 weeks to reply to anything.

Also curious about the 2nd and 3rd ip's. Where ever I do a tracert, I always get the same 100% packet loss. Don't know those ip's and searching them doesn't make it any clearer.

I also attached the tracert that EA asked me to do to there servers. They required 2 attempts.

Those hidden hops are likely just your ISP and it is common to see that. As for individual hops having a problem, that can be ignored if the final hop shows all is well. We talk about this more here:

ok thanks - things are ok then.

Gives EA something else to cross off their list to finding a cause.

Have you rebooted your modem/router and re-ran the trace route several times to see if the issues occur again?

TimeX is correct that when you see that in a trace route it is usually an ISP issue. I see something like that once or twice a month with Comcast.

I have had issues for 9 months.

They linked it twice to a hardware issue at the telephone pole.

Last time they went through the entire house and changed all the ends on the cables, replaced all the splitters, and replaced the modem. For the next 10-12 days, the internet crashed once a night between 6:30 and 7:30 pm est. It hasn't crashed for the past 2+ weeks hardly at all, but I still reboot the modem and router every 3-5 days as a habit.

That sounds very similar to what I went through with Comcast. Took two years to get my problem resolved.
