Why no linux support for souce mods?

Post by soja »

I just, out of curiosity, attempted to install every third party mod listed in ./steam -command update -game list -dir .

and out of all of them(37), the only one i managed to install was garrysmod.

If they are in this list, aren't they supported under linux(note: i wasn't on windows), and if so, why do the 10+ games listed in your control panel only support windows?

In terms of managed hosting, we have not implemented most games on Linux yet. We have a full list of what we support on Linux here: http://www.nfoservers.com/forums/viewto ... =51&t=4562

There is not much demand for servers on Linux, mostly because quite a few popular titles do not support that OS. The games that are on the list right now had sufficient demand from customers and/or specific requirements that led us to implement them on that platform.
