Dead RDP Session

Today, while I was out enjoying the day, it seems our server had a hiccup and decided to do a lil' crash. After a brief disruption of services from the VPS, everything resumed and ran normally, however, I could no longer log into the RDP Session. It was still running, but, I couldn't get back in. I kept logging in with a new session.

Eventually, I just issued a 'rwinsta' from the console I was in, and terminated both sessions, and rebooted the machine.

I'm running Win Server 2003 on the VPS. Would anyone know of a way to regain control of these rogue sessions? I've only had this happen once before, and somehow got back into the session...

It may work to use the task manager, which has an option on the context menu of the "Users" page to connect to other sessions.

That was my first move. However, the task manager did not have that session showing. When I ran 'quser', the session was shown... but task manager was being dumb. ;p

Next time, I'll try running 'tscon' and see how that works out.

The "Terminal Services Manager" snap-in may also be useful.
