Wondering if a 2 core VPS will run a 40 slot Dayz server smoothly.

Doing a two core would leave no resources for the OS and cause problems.
I would recommend nothing under a three core, in my test I have seen a 40 slot DayZ server use two full HT cores and around 2GB of ram.
