Not really off topic, but if I want vent and I have a cs server, public, do I have to pay more or does it come for free?

Our clan just heard about it and would like to learn how to use it

the ventrilo servers use up system resources and bandwidth, thus we have to charge, but its very minimal.

10 bucks for 16 people.

Well you need to make sure you open the port and direct it to your machine. Then make sure you are giving people the right IP and port number. Make sure the IP you are giving people is not your internal network IP but your true IP. Goto showmyip.com to find out what it is.

But for gosh sakes, renting vent is cheap, just rent a server. If you have 4 people connected and you are scrimming, have fun with the lag. It won't take you long to decide to rent a server. I've been there :)

its an advanced server, for voice applications, can chat, but mainly used for scrims and matches while ingame.

a rented server is very easy to use. just download the client app and input the ip and port number to your server and press connect. There are people in mine 24/7, sometimes gaming but mostly chatting and hanging out. It's more fun than IRC.
