Will it restart the server if I upgrade my vds server from 3 cores to 4 cores?

Yes, it will. It may also cause you to be moved to a new machine, leading to a little extra downtime -- the confirmation page will let you know if that's the case.

Ouch :( - aren't I on the best machine right now in SJ?

I might even consider 6 cores since MvM is coming soon.
Moving to a separate machine will not cause IP address changes correct?

I can't tell here, but the system will only move you if it *needs* to. The confirmation page will tell you if that's the case right when you submit the proposed changes.

Correct. Your existing IPs will not be changed unless you change locations or remove an IP through the page. As with all the other changes you can make, it will tell you what will happen on the confirmation page, before you trigger the upgrade.

If triggered immediately, your changes will require a lossless move to a new machine, retaining all files and settings. We estimate that the downtime from the move will be approximately 23 to 55 minutes, during which time your server will be inaccessible.
I guess I'll wait when my servers die down in the AM. :/

Just make VERY VERY VERY sure you read EVERYthing before you click to confirm. I did not and regretted it. I removed an IP and sent my server from Atlanta to Washington. At the rate it was going, it was going to take a week just to get there. Luckily John was able to abort the transfer, get me back to Atlanta and restore my IP.

So again, just make sure you read everything on that last page. Dont just click through.

Hard lesson learned...
