Re: MvM information dump
That is an awesome MOTD.

@Juski> You said I had a valid point! You can't take it back now! It's out there!

Re: MvM information dump
Funny, the instant I restarted the server (with the above settings), it was full!
Can I assume that Player count: 34/6 means there are 28 players waiting in queue?

Re: MvM information dump
The server had a bug in it that causes "ghosts" for rejected players, so the count is just plain wrong. Valve released an update just now that supposedly fixes that; we're attempting to retrieve it and test it.
Re: MvM information dump
John, for some reasons players list do not appear in TF2 since the update. it just shows 6/6 but it doesn't show the players list.
Re: MvM information dump
Yes, that was because of the ghosts I mentioned.
Re: MvM information dump
Saw the update was applied. Was this the one that was supposed to fix the player count as well?
The server shows:
Current players: 27 / 6
It doesn't bother me... just cosmetic.

Re: MvM information dump
The player count is still broken in another way -- it includes bots. I have reported this to Valve a couple of times and I really hope they fix it.
Re: MvM information dump
New updates rolled out few hours ago, did NFO roll our the new update?
I think this addressed the ghost player issues.

Re: MvM information dump
That update came out yesterday night, it is currently marked as optional and if you want it applied open a support request asking for a server repair to be ran.

Re: MvM information dump
Orcs Must Die 2 was recently released, and I would say MvM is more like that than Killing Floor. I wouldn't be surprised if Valve got some sort of permission for it.TacTicToe wrote:MvM is like a TF2 version of Killing Floor. Completel ripoff of it, but who cares? Its fun and free!

Since I run a managed server I can just go under managed and run the repair tool correct?kraze wrote:That update came out yesterday night, it is currently marked as optional and if you want it applied open a support request asking for a server repair to be ran.
But looks like based on what John said that this update didn't get the job done?
Re: MvM information dump
A repair through the managed panel will apply the update, that's correct.
The update makes players able to join, which is good. It does not entirely fix queries, which is bad.

Yes, that will work as well.
However this update did not fix the bug, as John said.

Hopefully they will fix this this upcoming week.kraze wrote:IcEWoLF wrote:Since I run a managed server I can just go under managed and run the repair tool correct?kraze wrote:That update came out yesterday night, it is currently marked as optional and if you want it applied open a support request asking for a server repair to be ran.

Re: MvM information dump
This game is a CPU/RAM hog, unlike anything I have seen recently. CSGO is almost as bad. I had to set my FireDaemon to restart the servers daily, just to keep things under control. I think a lot of people are going to be very upset, that are pay per slots. I honestly don't think any respectable GSP will be able to offer these servers without charging for the full 32 slots. I mean it consumes the resources of a 128 slot server, almost. So you're paying for 32, and only able to have 6, the math just isn't there. Youre looking at almost $5 per slot to play this FREE game.
Wow just wow.
In the meantime, they really need some kind of reserved slot system. I get irritated that people get on my server as fast as I can kick them and I cant play. How long has Valve been testing this?!
