Unmanaged VDS - upgrade

Post by markg »

i have a unmanaged vds and it works fine.

im thinking of upgrading to one more core.

if i do so, do i have to reinstall everything or is it migrated over?

also will the ip address change?

server is in san jose if that makes a difference.

thanks

If all you are doing is an upgrade no files will be lost and the IP will not change.
@Kraze^NFo> Juski has a very valid point

@Juski> You said I had a valid point! You can't take it back now! It's out there!

Thanks.

one further question.

if i DOWNGRADE at some point, will the server also keep whats on the hard drive intact? assuming of course i have less then the downgraded limit on the hd?

for example going from 2 to 1 core, if i only have 50gb on the hd (less than the 100gb limit for the downgraded vps)

thanks

In that example, data is still retained.
