East coast

Post by Edge100x »

We're currently looking into a location on the East coast. We're fairly certain that we will be doing it, but I'm interested to know what people's thoughts are on the subject. Would you buy an East coast server from us? Where would you want it to be (New York, Boston, Chicago, Atlanta, etc.) if you would?

I would be willing to give support to people on the east coast as long as they admited the west coast is more laid back and better.

We don't have too many choices for the location because of the provider, but we can look into that.

i was just thinking of level3 in richmond or washington dc.

or you can get them in new york or atlanta

depends on what provider you want to be with, stick with level3, or go with some other bandwidth.

We're strongly considering a specific provider right now that has no presence in Richmond and a more muted presence in DC than it has in NYC, Boston, or Atlanta. Rest assured that it will be our usual high-quality offering.

internap, rawr

maybe both internap and level3 at the same location perhaps, same building hopefully, so you reach both levels of quality and price.

No plans have yet been finalized and we're still weighing options on the provider. Mainly my post here was to see the reaction of customers to the thought of an East coast location. What location we choose is secondary, and what provider we use is moot at this point since we will pick one with good peering such that the main factor for pings will be distance.

Do we have any customers (not helpers) out there who'd like to weigh in?

I would like to see central servers like dallas or kansas but east coast would expand your business for sure

One thing that Im sure has been considered is compitition. If we were to set up in NY im sure the compitition would be fierce. But I dont know how competitive Atlanta would be. That would be decently close to Florida too.
