remote mysql, redirect etc.

Post by elfenlied ftw »

Hello, my current GSP is decent and mostly suites my needs, however their fast downloads suck. And their webhosting packages don't allow for remote mysql.

That said I started looking for webhosting alternatives and stumbled across this place. It looks OK so far but I need to know a few things before I switch to NFO for web stuff.

Does NFOservers
  • Allow redirect/fast download hosting?
  • Allow for remote mysql connections?

I run a TF2 MvM server running sourcemod. I need a simple webhosting package for fast dls *AND* remote mysql for sourcemod plugins and what not.

Thanks.

Yes, we allow these. Note that remote MySQL is limited to 50 connections at a time per remote IP, however.

On the hosting page it says "Simultaneous connections". This is for the mysql connection limit correct? So going with standard or pro would increase the limit?

I can't really imagine a TF2 server using 50 connections but I'd probably go with an increased limit to be safe.

The simultaneous connection limit is just for HTTP, so it's separate.

I wouldn't expect you to need that many MySQL connections unless you're running many servers from the same machine and the MySQL client is not binding to server IPs properly.
