Odd CSGO Server problem

Post by Cain »

My CSGO server has an odd problem I cannot seem to fix...

When the server is very busy for a period of time, it eventually becomes unjoinable by new players, as if there was an update out.

Then the server slowly runs out of players. Once it is empty, particularly if I reboot it, then it is fine and depending on the time of day quickly refills.

This problem cause my server to sit empty for periods of time when this happens and I am not around to reboot. Connecting players get an error message something like "Failed to create session" or "Failed to connect to session"...

What on earth could be causing this?? How can I fix this, I have tried everything with no success.

Do any of you Admins see this problem also??

I am assuming this happens after a few maps are played? if so does it seem to happen on the same map or does it happen on a map that is not in your mapgroup?
@Kraze^NFo> Juski has a very valid point
@Juski> Got my new signature, thanks!
@Kraze^NFo> Out of context!
@Juski> Doesn't matter!
@Juski> You said I had a valid point! You can't take it back now! It's out there!

It is difficult to predict.

Sometimes after one map, other times after once through the complete rotation, then other times after several rotations... but it can happen on any map.

See this post: https://forums.alliedmods.net/showthread.php?t=195369

It's some retarded way how Valve configured the maps cfg.
I don't run any custom maps...either way Valve has some fixing to do and I have a feeling there will be a large update being released in the next few weeks.

This has been happening to me for over 2 months now. Exact same thing that you have described. It is unpredictable, and appears to be related to non-standard map rotations and custom map groups (currently using mg_custom as my map group identifier). This is really annoying and requires me and other server administrators with rcon access to 'babysit' the server 24/7 to see if it needs a reboot.

What a killjoy, well done Valve. We truly enjoy your Beta... oops I mean full version release...ha-ha.

It probably loses connection with valves matchmaking system. I've heard of this happening in TF2 as well, set NFO to reboot your server every morning when its empty via the managed panel(if you have that)
