VDS Managed to Unmanaged

Post by Zaxxon »

I know what the answer is and I understand why but I did see this post in the knowledgebase:
http://www.nfoservers.com/forums/viewto ... =51&t=8024

I have asked support before, if I moved from a Managed VDS to an Unmanaged one, would I keep all of my gameserver IP's. There is one in particular that I really can't lose. It seems from the post that if I change to an Unmanaged VDS and keep the location the same, that I will keep the IP addresses that I currently have.

Can someone confirm for me either way?

Hi,

You cannot keep any files or IP's when you are moving from a managed system over to an un-managed system.

It is possible we may support something like this down the line but there is no official confirmation.

Edit: We now support several IP moving operations. Please take a look at our KB section for more information.

@Kraze^NFo> Juski has a very valid point
@Juski> Got my new signature, thanks!
@Kraze^NFo> Out of context!
@Juski> Doesn't matter!
@Juski> You said I had a valid point! You can't take it back now! It's out there!

That's a shame. I really want to go unmanaged.
