Apparently it helps improve websites performance.
Anyone ever try this?

Nginx is just another webserver -- an alternative to Apache, Lighttpd, etc. It doesn't make sense for our managed hosting because we need the additional capabilities of Apache. On an unmanaged machine or VDS, you might see slightly higher performance with it versus Apache on certain workloads.

Sounds good.
Was just looking for a review of it.

Litespeed is a better solution for unmanaged vds, maybe NFo could consider replacing Apache with Litespeed for their web hosting. Of course licensing costs should be considered.
But each machine should see a huge performance boost compared to apache.

As someone who wasn't experienced with doing much of anything on Linux when I first started, I really enjoyed Cherokee and it's web-based interface.

Right now on a 1-core VDS I strictly use for web stuff, I setup nginx + php-fpm + xcache. Like stated earlier in this thread, it will shine if you have a lot of web requests. Seems to scale a bit better than Apache.
I mainly set it up over Apache for the experience of doing it on Linux.
Although I don't have a comparison to Apache, this was a speed test I did for my main page with Cloudflare enabled.

You can also check out the responsiveness of the site through my signature below. Honestly, Apache would probably act just the same because I don't serve a lot of requests, but I like to tweak things a lot.
