Hello, I am interested in the following:
Six core: Raw horsepower for numerous servers or applications.
Six full, dedicated HT CPU cores (Nehalem or better)
6144 MB of RAM
600 GB of RAID-protected storage
6000 GB of InterNAP bandwidth transfer
Also purchasing 12 IP addresses and 1 Gig of ram
I would like to know approximately how many servers will get out of this ? For Counter Strike: Source?
VPS

Re: VPS
The number of servers that you can run varies depending on the configuration of each server, such as its size and plugins. In general, though, you could expect to handle a full 32-slot server per core, and perhaps more.
CS:S servers aren't as heavy on RAM usage as other games like CS:GO and NS2, using a few hundred megabytes per server, so you may not need to purchase more of that. Additional IPs are also optional, as you can run more than one server per IP.

Re: VPS
Measuring in servers isn't really the right approach, for CS:S you should measure slot count, john provided some good numbers, depending on the machine you're on, you could get 32-40 slots per core.
Remember to not start out with a large server like a 6-core, starting at 3 or so and working your way up as you grow is a much better approach if you're not already an established community

Re: VPS
Also, other things, like how big each server is. In my experience, two 32 slot servers will use less than a single 64 slot server.
Re: VPS
But 1 of my friends sayd he had about 36 cs:s servers and other game servers with that package o.O
So can I run about 30 servers with no additional IP's?
Would this be a better option for price and more game servers ?
Eight core: Even more power.
Eight full, dedicated HT CPU cores (Nehalem or better)
8192 MB of RAM
800 GB of RAID-protected storage
8000 GB of InterNAP bandwidth transfer
Thank you for your help

In addition, does it come with 100 tickrate 66- fastdl etc all them options so customers can buy it ?
Re: VPS
I can't even run 36 servers on my dedicated server. I think your friend misspoke when he said he had 36 servers, unless they're all small 10 slot servers.
Why in the world would you want to run 30 servers? If you actually have all of them filled you should have enough money to buy a proper server to run them all.
For 30 servers you would need to be looking at the very minimum a 12-core vds or the $850/m machine here at NFO. This is not a hardware limitation by NFO, you won't find any better performance anywhere.
You COULD run 30 servers on that 8-core plan, but they will not run smooth if even half of them got full. If you're on managed you would not need to purchase additional IPs per server.
On the control panel page there's a note about tickrates, and CS:S supports only 66. There is a "tickrate enabler" that will allow you to change it if you decide to install it. You get full access to the command line to change tickrate if you wish.
Here is the forum thread about tickrates in CS:S: http://www.nfoservers.com/forums/viewto ... =18&t=4627
