Post by Ronaldo »

Hi,

this issue never happened before and it's the first time that when i boot one of the servers that i run on a virtual vps takes too much time to load and even it happens when the server change from a map to another one, it's like the server takes 30 seconds to load and this is not normal.

Are you running any plugins on the server? Some stats plugins can cause this issue after storing a lot of data, for example. The best test would be to disable Metamod itself and see if there is the same problem switching maps.

Also, when checking the map load time, you will want to check with a map that has already run one since the server started. If you attempted to load a map for the first time since the last server restart, it will first need to cache the map from disk to RAM, which takes extra time.

Nod, this is usually caused by being very low on RAM (leading to lots of swapping and cache exhaustion) or on a plugin that is causing significant processing or I/O.

I've had this problem happen when one of my plugins was missing a configuration file. I have no idea why but it caused 20-30s map changes and everyone left because they thought the server crashed. This was a radio plugin for the source engine(game was CS:S). Watch your console tool when the map changes, are there any clues there?

I have disabled amxmodx and everything on Metamod and the problem still occur and as for being low on ram, i see that CPU usage is at 12% and physical memory is at 32%.

Console shows no errors.

The server loaded normally with a fresh install but without Metamod because for some reasons the folder that nfo provide for cs1.6 doesn't exist anymore and i had to download the files for counter strike from somewhere else and when i booted the server, BopenService failed, failed to load steam service and i am not sure why.

You should download the files for CS 1.6 directly from Valve. Try using SteamCMD with appid 90: https://developer.valvesoftware.com/wiki/SteamCMD
