problems with dovecot&postfix

Post by WoAyumi »

Dear NFO forum,

I have managed to set up dovecot and postfix. I can send mail internally; however, I cannot deliver a letter from outer source. I have tried to allow all actions on my firewall but I still continue to receive this error

We block port 25 on new VDS servers for the first two weeks to prevent users from sending spam.

Sounds it could be something else. Have you tried completely disabling your firewall and any realtime antivirus which could be blocking it?

I have just tried. No difference. connection timeout.
What can I do? Mail sending\receiving works locally though.

Postfix is a complicated system and I do not immediately know what you should try next, I'm sorry. Normally I would expect that to be firewall-related, but we definitely don't block port 25 from our end, and you said that you tried with your firewall disabled.

Asking in a forum or mailing list dedicated to these software packages might work best.
