we are thinking of changing our billing cycle from once per quarter to once per month.
i know that if we cancel (which we arent) there are no refunds, so that should be done at the very end of the subscription period.
but what about just changing billing cycle frequency? do i need to do anything in particular?
thanks.

This can be done easily through a change order process, if you need exact instructions open a request asking for the change order instructions and we can provide them.

We can also provide the instructions here in the forum. Essentially, you choose what you have now on the order page, make any adjustments that you desire, then click "This is a change to an existing order" option at the bottom and go from there.

k, did that, seemed to work fine
but...it said i had to pay MORE to change from 3 month, which has already been paid, to 1 month cycle, which isnt due to start yet.
???? makes no sense to pay extra for this cycle since it was already prepaid.

You would still need to pay for that month, yes. Keep in mind since you were on a three month subscription your new monthly billing cycle doesn't kick in until those three months run out.

Re: Changing plans - billing cycle from every quarter to mon
ok, im slow
i pay in advance whatever the fee is. for now its 3 months, my intention is 1 month.
i paid for three months in advance on december 9th. that means im paid up through march 8th, with my next payment due (whatever it is) on march 9th.
so on march 9th i would expect you to bill me, in advance, for the NEXT period of time i signed up for, whether that is 1 month or 3 months.
since im paid up through march 8th, why would i have to pay extra?? i already PAID through march 8th.

Re: Changing plans - billing cycle from every quarter to mon
Your not paying extra, you are paying for that single month you want to switch to. You will still get the three months you paid and the additional month you are paying for right now when switching to a single month configuration.
Keep in mind previous billing arrangement's need to finish up before the new one will take effect. So your monthly subscription will not take effect until your current three month subscription runs out.

Re: Changing plans - billing cycle from every quarter to mon
What's actually happening is that you have a 3-month plan at a discount, and it costs some amount. When you tell the system that you want to switch to a 1-month plan, it calculates the new price (without a discount), and prorates it by your remaining time, finding a higher amount than you were paying before. It applies the difference as a required extra payment.
To avoid any additional fees, I strongly recommend waiting until near the end of the 3-month period to make the change to a shorter commitment.

ok, that makes more sense on one hand.
on the other hand, a system that cant tell the difference between the period you are paid through, and time/fees after that date isnt too bright.....

Re: Changing plans - billing cycle from every quarter to mon
It may seem like something that is an easy adjustment on first blush, but trying to track multiple levels of state and order history unfortunately is non-trivial, as is retrofitting an existing system to improve it in this small way.
