Seems the file-system "/" is mounted as read-only.
I am logged in as a root doing all of this.
apt-get update/upgrade gives me errors like:
Code: Select all
W: Failed to fetch http://ftp.debian.org/debian/dists/squeeze/non-free/binary-amd64/Packages.gz Could not open file /var/lib/apt/lists/partial/ftp.debian.org_debian_dists_squeeze_non-free_binary-amd64_Packages - open (30: Read-only file system) [IP: 130.89.148.12 80]

Remount ro
Tried to remount it won't allow it as booted to it.
Tried to reboot to a virtual disk/drive so I could then remount. Wouldn't come back online
Re-install Debian Squeeze, same problem.
Anyone had this issue before? I'm no sysadmin but I know a decent amount and haven't had this problem before.
Any help is appreciated. Thank you.
