Do we have DDoS protection?

Post by LEOcab »

First of all, I don't care about DDoS protection because as far as I know it costs hundreds of dollars. I'm just having trouble with my Minecraft server not being properly queried at Minecraft Forums' server list. Check it out:

http://servers.minecraftforum.net/serve ... -fresh-map (292471-year ping LOL)

I filed a support ticket at Minecraft Forums and the guy asked if my provider had DDoS protection, because that could be the cause. So, do I get DDoS protection with the $60 VPS plan? (dual core, 3 gigs RAM, 10GB SSD)

Thanks in advance. :)

We have some protection for our customers but it is done on a rule by rule basis for the most part so nothing that would cause this.

Looking at that posting more in-depth it seems that there service simple can't query your server. This most likely means you have entered some incorrect information when adding it or you are running a firewall/real time anti-virus which is blocking the connection.

You may also want to make sure you have enable-query=true in your server.properties.
