Re: GameServers Dedi
Hi,
Our prices reflect our true cost of doing business. We also offer much more to our customers then any other company. Some things to note that we offer.
- 100% Service Level Agreement(SLA)
- Performance guarantee
- We use only Internap bandwidth which is known for being extremely high quality bandwidth. Using this type of provider allows us offer extra quality and features to our customers
- 1GB port connected to 10GB and 20GB backbones included in the price(excluding Denver/SanJose)
- Multiple locations, it seems they only allow four locations for there machines
- We don't charge $25 for OS reinstalls
I would suggest you take a look at your user-submitted commentary section on our forums to get an idea of our customers are saying:

I could go on and on listing the differences between the two companies but if you have any specific questions about our company please ask, we would all would be happy to answer

@Juski> Got my new signature, thanks!
@Kraze^NFo> Out of context!
@Juski> Doesn't matter!
@Juski> You said I had a valid point! You can't take it back now! It's out there!

Re: Competitor's Dedi
Please, no competitor links/advertisements in these forums.
The competitor that you listed had significantly (ridiculously) more expensive dedicated servers than us for a long time, and recently switched them to be a little cheaper than ours. I'm not sure what their strategy is, but historically, with their game servers, they have shot for the low end of the market with much lower-end, cheaper game servers, and they may now be adapting their dedicated server offerings to match. Our very inexpensive, but high-quality, VDS offerings may have partially influenced these prices because they can't compete with their own VDSes, making trying to fit back into that lower-price niche even tougher.
In any case, the historical reasons for the slightly higher prices on the spectrum of services that we offer still applies. We have high performance and reliability (even backed up by a performance guarantee and SLA, that nobody else offers), standout service and support, a high-quality control panel, and so on. A big part of the cost comes from InterNAP bandwidth, which is also a major contributor to our performance and reliability.
We talk more about what sets us apart here: https://www.nfoservers.com/thebasics.php
You should definitely do your homework and test servers on both our network and others, talk to friends, ask each company's support staff questions, and consider other offerings to find the best fit for your needs (such as standalone game servers and VDSes).
In terms of offerings, the highest-performance offering here will usually be standalone game servers, since our systems ensure a consistent level of performance through underloaded machines, and we very closely monitor them; I recommend VDSes when multiple servers are being purchased and a lower overall cost is important, or if you wish to run applications that don't match game types we offer (our VDSes will give a much higher bang-for-the-buck than that other company's dedicated machines); and dedicated servers make sense when a VDS is being considered but the desired servers do not perform well when virtualized (such as if they are very large).
