CS 1.6 Issues

Post by Deicide »

With my clan server recently we did the upgrade. And so many things is screwed up im not sure where to start. The server it will crash out of random at times from certain commands such as changing a cvar which was sv_alltalk, another time was when someone would type FF to see if its on or off it crashed. Then when a map is nominated it would crash. Only way the server is running is because we disabled so many plugins. And even still at times random crashes will happen. I've tried so many things one was changing metamod to a different version. Which didn't work at all cause I couldn't change the liblist.gam file. Also when trying to use the amx_modules command to see which modules is running it doesn't show up any of the modules. So i think that may be one of the main factors is that certain modules may not be running. I just hope someone can possibly assist me with this? I have no clue to why they had to switch to STEAMCMD I personally dislike some of the changes. And then on another hand some changes they've made recently were pretty good.

You should definitely run the latest Metamod and the latest AMXx beta (if you use AMXx), as anything else will cause crashes. If you have a managed VDS, you can use our autoinstaller for AMXx; if you have an unmanaged server, you will need to install it by hand.

If you have an unmanaged server, you also might consider running the latest beta, as it fixes a couple of additional bugs. You can get the beta by using +app_update "90 -beta beta" instead of just +app_update 90 on your SteamCMD line.

I believe we are running the newest versions? I'm only limited to certain metamod versions from the control panel. I tried to add my own version but for some odd reason the .gam file wouldn't save and use the newest version.

Any how this is what happens when i run these commands maybe this can help letting you know what i do have?

executing version displayed the following
"Protocol version 48
Exe version 1.1.2.7/Stdio (cstrike)
Exe build: 18:02:44 Apr 3 2013 (6005)"

when running amx_modules
"Currently loaded modules:
name version author status "
Nothing appears which i've used the command before and it would normally display all the modules enabled.

Then when I ran meta list it shows
"Currently running plugins:
[ 1] AMX Mod X, v1.8.3-dev, Mar 17 2013, by AMX Mod X Dev Team, see http://www.amxmodx.org
[ 2] Fun, v1.8.3-dev, Mar 17 2013, by AMX Mod X Dev Team, see http://www.amxmodx.org

[ 7] Ham Sandwich, v1.8.3-dev, Mar 17 2013, by AMX Mod X Dev Team, see http://www.amxmodx.org
7 plugins"

meta version shows
"Metamod v1.20 2013-02-16 (5:13)
by Will Day <willday@metamod.org>
http://www.metamod.org/
compiled: Feb 16 2013, 17:11:35 +0100 (optimized)
ifvers: 5:13"

Any help? :P

That's all the latest, aye. These are vanilla installs, as well?

Well i've looked and the metamod-p doesn't work correctly with the server nor would the server ever start when using it. And for amxx i upgraded and it said the same exact version as I posted. Now I tried to downgrade to the 1.8.1 cause a friend of mine his server is working fine and he has the older amxx. So yea this is just ridiculous having to do all this crap and with no good outcome. Any how when I downgraded the damn server right as you connected to the server it would crash.

I checked the logs and well i found this
L 04/06/2013 - 12:53:21: Start of error session.
L 04/06/2013 - 12:53:21: Info (map "de_dust2") (file "addons/amxmodx/logs/error_20130406.log")
L 04/06/2013 - 12:53:21: Invalid reference plugin
L 04/06/2013 - 12:53:21: [AMXX] Run time error 10 (plugin "admincmd.amxx") (native "get_module") - debug not enabled!
L 04/06/2013 - 12:53:21: [AMXX] To enable debug mode, add "debug" after the plugin name in plugins.ini (without quotes).

So now im trying to debug this issue to see if I can just use the old version I once used before.

After running several things in debug things is now seeming to work alright... ill see :P.

I would not expect downgrading to work unless you also disabled various features at the same time (whatever features might have been broken by Valve's most recent changes).

You are correct that Metamod-P does not work correctly. One of the things I checked in your output was that you were running straight Metamod. Our autoinstaller also makes sure of this when AMXx is installed/upgraded.
