About to rent VDS - Anyone Running DayZ So I Can Check Ping?

Hi guys,

Okay - NFO look like THE folks to rent a VDS/VPS from, so I'm sold

I'm about to order a 3 core VDS, possibly later today - But I am trying to decide which city to use.

Does anyone currently host DayZ on a VDS with NFO?

I would love to connect and have a play, to see what the ping/gameplay is like

I'm in the UK, so suspect east-coast will be best for me? (Going with a USA server as most other players are in USA, and they get terrible ping with our current V1layer VPS (I ran a tracert, server is located in mainland EU, routed thru London, so currently for our USA players, its US/London/Mainland EU! - quite a long way for all those homing pigeons to fly back and forth with the data packets!)..

Anyway, if anyone does have a dayz server they are using an NFO VDS for, I would love to drop by on your server any give it a try out, just so I can get the right city

Many customers run DayZ and I hope that one will chime in. In terms of location, I'd definitely recommend NYC as the best option for getting both US and EU players in the mix. It also attracts some SA players, so it's a great middle ground for many players.

This is the server I helped setup and hosted by NFO.
He was using NFO webhosting for his database also.
Think it was free with server rental, but I could be wrong.

You can try it out, and check and see what kind of ping your getting on it.

To check your ping, while in game, press "P" for the players list, and select your name and it will shows the last 3 consecutive values received for your ping.

Thanks - looks to be a tavi server that needs a password? Unless I got it wrong?

I managed to search gametracker, and found this one - http://www.gametracker.com/server_info/ ... 9.18:2342/ which I think is NFO and NY datacentre? (Based off the tracert it looks like NY anyhow, but I might be wrong)...

It was nice and smooth, so hoping that is an NFO/NY

Im from the uk,my dayz server is not with nfo tho i do have a vds with nfo running other games...my dayz server is based in washington dc east coast.click my link and check the server info,try it for yourself,i range from around 80 to 90 ping,coming.from london.
