How to manage DNS?

Hello,

There's a DNS panel where i can manage my dns? Because my domain provider has a poor DNS panel.

Already bought a VDS, im going to buy a Dedicated server next week.

You would have to use the DNS panel provided by your domain provider since they are the ones providing the domain.

You can usually also transfer the domain to another company such as Site5, GoDaddy or NameCheap.

Which one are the dns of NFO?

In my former VPS i had a panel to manage DNS and in my domain panel i only put this (example)

ns1.nfoservers.com
ns2.nfoservers.com

And then i configure the A, NS, CX records and so on; in the vps panel to manage those dns...

I want to know if NFO has that feature? Or i should make it throught webmin?

If you have an unmanaged VDS, you could set up a DNS server yourself, if you'd like. This can be a bit complicated, but we have customers that do it. A 3rd-party control panel such as Webmin would be helpful if you take this route, I agree.

You could also add webhosting to your VDS through the order page. Our webhosting comes with DNS management functionality, as you mentioned.

There are several different things that you can do and it is possible we are on different pages.

Can you explain what you mean by managing your DNS? What are you looking to do? Are you referring to just updating your nameservers so you can host your domain here or on an unmanaged VDS?

Going the VDS route is fairly more complicated but it could benefit you in the long run. If you are just looking for webhosting then order our $2.99 plan would do you well.

To add webhosting to your account, simply use the order page and use the same login you use for your VDS. It will show up under "websites" in your control panel.

Webhosting is also an add-on for our VDSes. If you use a change-order request (http://www.nfoservers.com/forums/viewto ... =22&t=9005) and select it as part of the process, you can nab it that way.
