This is a common reply from a wp admin:
Try:
- switching to the Twenty Eleven theme by renaming your current theme's folder in wp-content/themes and adding "-old" to the end of the folder name using FTP or whatever file management application your host provides.

- resetting the plugins folder by FTP or phpMyAdmin.

- re-uploading all files & folders - except the wp-content folder - from a fresh download of WordPress.

Someone else suggests:
Found the problem:

1) Set define('WP_CACHE in wp-config to false
2) Delete extra space at the end of wp-config

Another suggestion:
OK. I just found the problem.
I have checked the log. and figure out formatting.php has been modified. and I copy from the original file. and problems fixed..

Gives you a few things to check out.

Tried those and no luck. I think it is some kind of forwarding issue from my domain I purchased because no files are being changed and I did all the domain editing in the control panel here & that was fruitless which leaves me to believe either where it is being forwarded to or s some programming error in Wordpress but it would've been a widespread problem and caught by now.

I'm leaving it as is, the annoyance of trying to fix it and nothing working is more annoying than the url being masked.
