Can't seem to setup an external mail client

Post by thirdcircuit »

I'm having trouble setting up my NFO email with an external mail client. Customer support recommended me make a thread here as I'll get a more in-depth response. I appreciate the help by the way!

I'm using thunderbird, and these are my settings:

This looks correct to me. Is the inbound mail giving you trouble, or the outbound? What error are you seeing?

Sending emails won't work. Receiving emails do work. Sometimes it even says that the password is incorrect but I've made sure multiple times that it is.

I use STARTTLS on port 587 myself.

Do you have a firewall that might interfere?

Have you tried port 1025, as well?

You were right. My firewall was part of the issue, it also seems that a certificate verification thing was also a problem. It mentioned something about "mail.nfoservers.com" not be legitimate or something.
