I have several sub domains pointing to my home computer for things like teamspeak, minecraft, etc. I am using type A for them. I was looking at the control panel and saw a SRV type of sub domain. Would making say a mc sub domain with SRV type with 25568(not default minecraft) pointing to an A type sub that is pointing to the servers ip allow people to connect to things not on default ports? for ex. a ts server not hosted on default port 9987 with sub SRV ip:9989 allow people to connect to the teamspeak server?
Also If the above is a yes would that enable higher security due to people not able to use the sub domain to access all ports going through? I will mostly be using default ports but I was just generally wondering. Finally would it be possible to make a subdomain point to a teamspeak server hosted elsewhere but also able to have a ts3.domain.com on NFO webhost with teamspeak information?

Re: Sub Domain Questions
The SRV record would allow you to point a the domain towards a non-default port, this is one of the great benefits of this record type. This does not enable higher security for the record though, as most programs do not look for SRV records, they use the standard DNS entry.
You can point a domain entry to a server hosted anywhere, it's not limited to just NFO hosted services, if this is what you're asking.
