Hardcore not working?

I'm using the admin tool offered on the NFO control panel, and I select 'set hardcore'. Save settings, then I restart the server. I join the server and it is NOT hardcore. I still see the reticle, map, ammo count, etc. I have successfully connected to hardcore servers though, so someone is getting them set up correctly. WHat am I doing wrong?

Are you running an admin tool like procon or rcon?

Unless things have changed, I think restarting the server reset some of the settings.

what if you are running a tool like procon. i'm in the same boat. I can see hardcore servers but cant get the config right.

I can't get this to work at all. But I see that other servers are running as hardcore, i even played on a couple this evening. What gives??? This can't be that hard.

Edge mentions in another thread that Hardcore only works if your server is set to Ranked.
