restarting the entire machine
does any1 here know if theres a way to restart the entire machine becuase the my server is spiking way to much and the machine been up for a long time. any way to get rid of lag?
A machine restart wouldn't help. Back in the Windows 95/Windows 98/Windows ME days it might have, but for the Windows NT kernel (4.0, 2000, XP, etc) it does not generally make things better.
Please email us with the results of the tests you ran in the lag FAQ. If they were inconclusive, make sure to include the time of day that you get the lag spikes and the maps that cause the lag spikes.
Lag spikes are most frequently caused by plugins or custom map downloads. If you run custom maps, make sure to use sv_downloadurl to avoid problems.
