Unban a Player

Post by Fallenferret »

I used the !ban "player" command to ban a user on the Server, and I worked the issue out and am trying to "Unban" him. I cant seem to find the command, or correct user file to edit or remove to allow him back on the server.

can anyone help me with this issue?

You can open up your server control panel then click on File manager and edit your Admin/BanList.txt file.

Admin/BanList.txt file in file management for your server should contain any bans for your server.
You can edit it I believe depending on the type through Procon as well under List -> Banlist.

Normally I would suggest having him connect to a different server and recording his GUID, but unfortunately, we can't tell which GUID links to each player; the game does not report them through rcon as it is supposed to.

Since he'd also be banned through PB, you might try deleting him there first, and potentially just clearing the regular server bans (since those clients are banned through both PB and the game, but just having PB should be enough, as long as it's working). You can see PB bans with this command:

!pb pb_sv_banlist

And you can remove a ban with:

!pb pb_sv_unban <slot #>

If you want to provide his name, I can look up his guid.
I might be able to find it with a background check.

Checked the name and he hasn't played on a server that logs player info for background profiles.

ApexAz was kind enough to provide me with his GUID

GUID: 4a5045bdfd046abcce8bf53310eafbcc

I removed him from the list but he still cant join the server.

You banned him by his EA_guid.
It might be in your logs, but can't be sure.

If he joins a server with Procon monitoring it, once he's on the server, Procon provides the EA_guid of each player.

Otherwise if you can't match him to the correct EA_guid, you might have to remove them one at a time to figure out which one is his.

SAve the ban list, remove one at a time, restart the server, and get him to join.
Once he can get on, you then know which was his.
Then you can copy the entire list back and just remove his EA_guid, restart the server, and he can join and you have restored your old bans.

It appears that admin.listPlayers is designed to show these EA GUIDs, while regular listPlayers does not. If you have him connect to someone else's server and have them run admin.listPlayers player ApexAz (they won't need Procon -- just regular rcon), you should be able to determine his.

I'll adjust our !ban command so that it includes the player's name in the reason, as well, to make this easier to handle in the future.
