Upgrading VDS

Post by kiwisarecool »

I've installed Arma 3 on my VDS, but I've noticed that it requires a large amount of CPU usage. I'm wondering what plan I should upgrade to.

I'm planning on running a 32 player server. With about 3 people on, it is using about 45% cpu usage, and idles at around 8%.

One of my main concerns is the mission that I am going to be using is CTI Warfare, it pits Opfor vs Bluefor vs Independent. You purchase a squad, vehicles, etc and try and destroy the enemys base. Either way I'll have to restart the server every now and then because it will ultimately lag, I'm just wondering which plan would sustain it the longest.

I've also read that a SSD would be beneficial as well.

Arma 3 is definitely a very intense game CPU wise, I normally recommend a three core for servers but if you're only running a 32 slot you should be ok with a two core.

Upgrading would allow you to run more servers side by side but Arma 3 will only use about two cores, unlikely most games which mainly use one.
