FastDL

Post by Aeternal »

My servers FastDL doesn't seem to be working. I have around 15000 files or so that are in my FastDL all linked to the correct file locations. sv_download is 1, sv_allowdownload 1, and all files in the websync are the same. No files are downloading however. I really need help here.

What specific files aren't downloading? If they are models, materials or sounds you would need to force download them. We talk about how you can do this here.

I believe that Garry had put a hard cap on the maximum amount of files that could be downloaded at 8,000. Have you considered putting the entire thing on the Steam Workshop to make it into a couple larger files? This will also improve download speed as one larger file will download quicker than many, smaller files.

I removed a few thousand files or so from the DL file. It now downloads which is great but now models are invisible for some reason. This applies to a lot of models so I've decided to delete those are are having issues am keep the functioning one. Thanks a lot guys :)

I know the frustration, some models just do not work for some clients, and I haven't been able to figure out any reason behind it. That has also been my solution to non-functioning models.
