Help wanted. Long time gamer here. My old community is looking into starting up some COD4 servers. 4 public and 1 private. We would like to have B3 installed and running on our public servers. I know NFO does not install B3, but was informed to try in the forums for some help. I am willing to donate to ones community or pay-pal them personally for the installation of B3 on our NFO servers. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you in advance,
Crash

Re: Big Brother Bot
If you're planning to run B3, I would honestly recommend that you consider running an unmanaged VDS and installing it locally. I say this because B3 has a bug related to how it uses external FTP sites on Windows 2008 R2 machines, and does not update properly with them, leading to delays in its reporting of in-game events.
Re: Big Brother Bot
Hey thanks for the reply edge..
Yea that was my plan to run an unmanaged VDS. I also was thinking of upgrading somethings to help with the demand of B3. My only problem is I have no idea on how to get this up and running. I have basic knowledge when it comes to changing things on server configs. This will be my first VDS.
My real problem is not knowing how to install and set up B3. If I had the time I am sure I could make it work with time. But I do not have the time to do so.
I only wish is that NFO would set it up. They could charge 20 bucks for set up and 5 bucks a month.
If you know anyone that can help please send me info or PM me.

In addition to what John said, I would recommend having some SSD space on your un-managed system to run your B3 bots on. I use B3 for most of our servers, Cod4, WaW, CoD2, Homefront, Chivalry, BC2. Used to use it for BO2, but went to paronicon for that.
Have you tried the B3 forums? I can set you up, but would need temp access to your system, if you want to go that route. Trying to walk someone thru this that has no clue, would be a time consuming pain in the butt. Sorry.
I will tell you what you need for the basics to get setup.
Server (ample to support what youre running)
SSD drive, 5 gigs should be ample for just bots.
MySql, and phpmyadmin
FTP server (makes it easier to do things)
Latest stable build of B3
CoD4 game binaries

Re: Big Brother Bot
Crash,
I set up B3 for two COD4 servers last year on an unmanaged VDS. It would probably be wise to attempt the installation yourself as there will be times you will need/want to change a config setting and installing B3 will help educate you on where those files are and which ones need to be edited. The instructions available on the B3 website are very good. There is also a guide available via google search that some folks have put together and is very helpful. YouTube videos also.
I run a two-core VDS with two COD4 servers and B3 on both. No frills, no SSD and things work just fine. If you go more than that, perhaps SSD or more cores would be appropriate. I also run a Procon layer for BF4 on the same server and still have great performance.
If your plan is to get a VDS anyways, you might as well give the install a shot. If all goes bad, you can simply delete/uninstall what you've done and get some remote help. The initial install/config is pretty easy, the tricky stuff comes into play when you start installing web-based plugins such as Echelon and XLRStats. They arent impossible for a first timer but take some tinkering. I can also help if you need it. Send me a PM if you run into any problems.

Thank you guys for the replies.
@tictactoe I already had you on my radar from searching the NFO forums for some help I am glad you replied. I will diffenently contact you in about 2 weeks, we can talk some more then. I work down in Brazil which is why I will not be able to get this up and running until then. I have your website.
@mike I know you are right nothing better than learning how to do something yourself, and I agree that it would be best for me to know about the set up of B3. My time is very limited when it comes to this. If I can get the basics up and running I am sure with the NFO forums support I will be able to make adjustments has needed.
