File transfer help?
Ok so I have an addon that is on the server called modernMOTD. If I try to edit any file in there (thats the only place I have tested so far) it says that it already exist and ask to replace it. This is obviously normal but when I click yes, the file transfer fails and the file I edited becomes empty. So I thought maybe if I just delete the whole addon and reupload the addon it will work. Nope. Even though I just got done deleting the entire addon, upon reuploading it, it still gives failed file transfers and ask me to overwrite a NON-EXISTENT file then uploads an empty FILENAMEHERE.lua or FILENAMEHERE.txt? It seems to be only for text based document (LUA's and .txt). What's going on?

Re: File transfer help?
It isn't just this file it's every file on my server that I try to update, it ask to overwrite it twice then makes the file empty and the file goes to the failed transfer tab on filezilla.
Re: File transfer help?
Got it, I just had to drag the files I wanted to edit/upload from windows explorer instead of the Filezilla local site.
Re: File transfer help?
Some files are hard linked to NFOServers and have to be deleted and replaced (if you are trying to overwrite a file)

Re: File transfer help?
I'm getting this problem now and no matter what I do to try to upload the file it doesnt work.
I'm trying to upload a custom weapon to my gmod TTT server, and when I try to edit it the same problem the op had happened.

When I have this issue, I simply go into my control panel > server control > stop server > go
Then I upload any edited files. Once the file goes through, I reboot the server. Sometimes the file can't be edited because it's actively being used by the server. Imagine opening an image from your desktop, and while open you want to rename it, but it won't let you because it's open. That's the problem you may be having. So simply shut it down, and try.
