MYSQL Database Problem.

Post by CJCJDJ »

I'm trying to set up a Database connection from the VPS I have with you guys to the SQL Database which is on my webhosting server I rent from elsewhere, who haven't been particularly helpful and once my registration expires i'll probably be transferring that to NFO too.
After a lot of trying and failing I'm now receiving this error;

**your connection attempt failed for user (myusername) e from your host to server (serverIP) Host (xxx.yyy.com) is blocked because of many connection errors, 'unblock with msqladmin flush-hosts.**

I'm not sure how to go about doing this or if I'm even able to do it from my end. I contacted my webhosting provider and they've checked their firewalls and said nothing is blocked their end.

Please advice me on the best action.

Thanks very much for your help and support! :)

The SQL host needs to flush the hosts cache on their mysql server. They can run the query
FLUSH HOSTS;
or they can run the suggested command from the command line.

On your end, something is creating many connection errors, causing your server to be blocked. If you run a gmod server with sourcebans, it is probably that. You should ask your host to raise the "max_connect_errors" to avoid this happening again. It is 10 by default.
