New Ip Address - Change

Post by fokkx »

I hired a VDS put the ip was being attacked by DDoS without at least i don't use it.
I was told to hire a new extra for the same ip.

I hired a new ip, but now What do I do?
How do I configure this new IP to only have access to the server, and the former be deleted?
The support does not help me, please someone. I'm 10 hours trying to talk with them.

I use Debian x6

We have instructions for adding a new IP to your network adapter in Debian, linked here: http://www.nfoservers.com/forums/viewto ... =68&t=5418

To remove the other IP address, you can follow the steps linked here: http://www.nfoservers.com/forums/viewto ... =90&t=6053

I do not recommend changing the IP address if you're being attacked, unless you are certain that the attack is meant for someone else and it can't be blocked. We had a customer come to us yesterday who was really confused after an attack was filtered, and in his case, he didn't really need to do anything, though he was insisting on asking for another one and saying that we were to blame for his attack, etc.

We respond quickly through the support system here and take pride in the quality of our support.
