Since i moved my garrysmod darkrp server to a dedi in frankfurt my server hasnt been appearing in the garrysmod server listings, it appears in my history but takes ages to appear there and also has quite high ping such as 81, i know support for unmanaged is low but i was looking for a response from the community if possible, im just asking around for a fix to the server not appearing in the listings.
PS i can connect VIA IP fine and 50% of my users can see it (mostly american or non EU users when it should be mainly EU users who can see it)
The IP adress is 31.186.251.99:27015

Re: Server Listing Issue
A bug/issue in Garrysmod seems to cause at least some servers in Frankfurt to be among the last queried by the in-game browser for EU users. This could be because it uses an outdated or otherwise inaccurate GeoIP database. We haven't yet found a workaround for this but we are open to further testing.
Re: Server Listing Issue
Is there any way that someone could try to find a fix again (if they wasnt trying to do that anyway) because the longer its like this im just loosing my whole playerbase.. :C
Re: Server Listing Issue
I've tested extensively myself and haven't found any way that we can affect its listing order, after trying many different things. One thing that makes it harder to test is that the servers show up normally for me.
I'll listen to any ideas or suggestions that people might have who are doing their own experimentation.

Re: Server Listing Issue
Ok ive spent about 2 hours looking into this with a m8 who is rly good with servers.
We came to the conclusion its completely out of my control, my machine/firewall settings/server are not to blame.
However i dought it is steams fault as you suspect their GeoIP service has malfunctioned (even if it has we cant just sit here and expect them to fix it unless we actually contact them(i dont know how to contact them))
We had a feeling it was something to do with your network, possible some sort of VPS issue, i cant remember the specifics because i dont know much about this.
I also think that changing Ip adresses might fix it, (get off the 31.186.251.xxx pool) i know this is difficult but if its ever possible mabye you could try this?
If all else fails mabye you could ask a member of valve to help you out and look into it (if possible) but they probably wont do that because steam barely ever respond to an contact attempts.
But please please pleeease try to fix this your the best host and if this listing thing gets fixed ill probably be wuth you forever i own servers
Get back to me if you make any progress please.
EDIT: As you say the US networks work fine mabye you could look for anything the US network has that we dont that might be causing the issue?

Re: Server Listing Issue
We have thoroughly investigated our network and we're not blocking any traffic or doing anything else that would prevent a server from showing up for EU clients.
Also, notably, the servers show up fine for us, testing from here in the US. And, US servers have the same problems for EU clients. This is what led us to believe that it might be a listing-order issue, and likely related to a GeoIP mistake.
We have no other IP block in Frankfurt currently.
We're continuing to investigate on our end. It will likely be up to Garry to fix it because it is a problem with the in-game browser (only).

Re: Server Listing Issue
Your saying you can see EU servers normally over in the US?
Re: Server Listing Issue
Yes, those who have tested from the US do not seem to experience the issue. There are a few other forum threads about this.
Re: Server Listing Issue
Wait i swear your not meant to be able to see EU servers in the US and vice versa?
If you seeing my server fine in the listings in the US then theres something badly wrong.
