NFO please help me I was wrongly accused and shut down of so

Has anyone else had a problem where someone else hacked or logged into one of the ip addresses you were given and doing illegal activity against ToS I just signed up less then 48 hours ago was given 3 ip address for my VDS which I only ever logged into the main IP address given and then I get a email saying that one of the ip addresses I didn't use was doing illegal port scanning etc.

I am trying to reach out to NFO here to do the right thing and see that I am a honest customer and they got this wrong do they have a telephone number?

I have this is the last email I got from them.


You were given three IP addresses:

192.223.28.34
192.223.28.51
192.223.28.61

Primarily the abuse was sourced from 192.223.28.61, as was most of the traffic from the VDS in general.

The packet captures that I took were directly from the virtual adapter on your VDS. Nobody shared this adapter with you, so I was exclusively looking at your traffic. You were definitely the source of this abuse. You were also scanning remote hosts on port 445 quite a bit.

Did you give anybody else access to your vds, did you install any strange software that might of been generating the traffic?

I never ever used the. 61 address not even one time so I don't see how anything I did could have generated such a thing. The only thing I have done with the server is bid on penny auction website quibids.com and ran basic tcping command to the site.

And no one else has any of my info and this has been less this 48 I have had this server quite unless this is Unreal and very frustrating being wrongly accused for something I did not do

If I was doing it I wouldn't be fighting this. No hacker would even care and would just make more accounts i am just a innocent customer being accused of activities on a ip I never accessed. So what you are saying is that they is no way it was someone else who had access to that ip with this activity? If they were doing stuff like I'm being accused of I'm sure they would have no trouble hacking into these VDS.

I never heard of such a thing in seven plus years of leasing VDS's and dedicated servers, not once.

I have never heard of such a thing either and I have been renting different VPS/VDS for years but appearantly someone is on the server doing hacking type of activity. How are we fighting the good fight if we are shutting down innocent people though?

If I was a hacker I wouldn't be complaining about it I would open up another account and do the same thing. It's not hard to create a new account very simple in fact. Is everyone replying here work for nfo or something? How old are you kids replying 12?

We understand that in some cases VDS's and dedicated machines can be compromised. Normally when this happens we allow the customer a warning and give them a chance to fix the issue. However, in the case of a new VDS or machine we tend to immediately suspend the service as its pretty clear the service was purely bought for doing such acts.

Though, I don't know who who are and don't know any backstory here, i'm just speaking of general company policy.

whether or not you used this IP to access your VDS, the OS could still use it. I know Windows in particular doesn't really seem to care and just picks one, Linux may be similar but I haven't checked.

Actually hackers are the first to squeal like a pig when they get busted. I have been a customer of NFO's for some time now, not an employee. You got caught, period. John knows what he is talking about, and I am sure was quite thorough in his investigation. I would side with NFO before the guy with only 6 posts here.

As for my age, please. I have quite probably been playing games longer than you have been breathing air. You can try to call us kids, most here are adults. You got busted, time to move on. Only one that could reverse this would be the same guy that closed your account. So good luck with that!

Making a new account isn't an issue it's the principle that my account was shut down after 2 days and I didn't do anything but bid on a penny auction website. I ran a standard tcping to test delay and ping that's it.

Ok so I talked to my friend who is a IBM network guru he told me that me running tcping to test the ping to penny auction website would cause Firewalls and intrusion detection devices will alert on it. So I was doing something that is not harmful to anything or anything just checking my delay ping to the server and the ceo shut me down without even talking to me about this. Can this please be looked into to see that I was doing nothing to be destructive it was simple tcping command to test ping because regular ping doss not work to www.quibids.com
