Runing windows Programs on windows server?

Post by spik330 »

Recently Losing my other computer I'm looking for a server to run all my CPU intensive programs. Stuff that I can just turn on and leave for a bit. Like converting files, upload, download, encoding you know all the fun stuff that slow down your computer. Can the servers (VDS) run normal Windows programs or do I need to find programs made or the OS for them to work?

If you order a VDS with the Windows OS you will be able to run most/all of your programs just like on your desktop :)

I would personally choose 2008 R2 for the best compatibility(and metro sucks).
