Help On The Server I Just Got Today

Was wondering if you can help me set up my server by adding a way for my MOTD to stay up a bit longer then it is now its like only 3 seconds up cant really read it when you join the server also setting up a way for you have to click 1 or 2 for the server rules as i want anyone that joins the server to know its a Tactical Gameplay server not some COD gameplay lets run around like mad and be dumb and also how to change the game modes the game has to where i can pick what modes are played in it if there is a way maybe one of you can come set it up and show me im willing to sit and watch so i can learn as this would be a very easy way to show me. or if there is a 3rd party program i need to use with this server to make it the way i want as this is my 1st ever time renting a server and i have no idea what im doing or how to run it really its all new to me here so any advice will be very welcomed thanks for you time reading this hope to hear from you soon.

Yeah i went and looked and everything is really confusing maybe someone can help give me some pointers in Teamspeak or something i have a server as well i mean all i want to be able to do since it use's Source right is to have a option for my admins while in game to kick vote ban change map or change game modes you know if that is even a option for this game because running it through the control panel on NFO does not give me any options to do so like this even with the rcon tool i have tried many Rcon commands and it wont change map or let me kick from it.. so i wont really want to close the server down because i can't get it the way i want you know im sure someone has had time in doing something like this and i hope they are willing to help out some if not i guess i'll let the month run out and forget about it and move..

Sorry i'll figure out a way to have you come on my Ts channel so we can talk i tend to not add people i dont know from websites or games you really can't be to safe now days nothing against you not saying your a bad guy just till i get to know you better let me know when is a good time and i'll PM you the Ts3 info for you to join i'll keep checking this thread every hour to if you said anything back or maybe you can write some pointers out on here i guess.. if you don't want to waste your time on the Ts server as im on it everyday now for hours on it and if you don't feel like helping now because how i feel on adding you then i'll understand as well just protecting my investments here you know. How is adding me as a friend on a gaming platform unsafe? Do you have your bank account and credit card numbers posted on your steam profile?

yeah i didnt mean to offend you mate i just have so much invested on my steam account that i tend to not add people on it i dont know only for one reason back in 2008 i did so and in 2 days i lost over 400 games on the account plus 276$ on my steam wallet steam would not give me back my account due to the guy that stole it used my money on it then got it vac banned since then im very wary about adding people i dont know im so sorry this offends you. But you got to understand where im coming from here.So can you still help me out or you going to say no since i wont add you? if so i understand mate i'll just keep googling for hours with stuff that dont really help me out lol or understand....

Not possible. There is 0 security vulnerability by adding someone to your steam friends.

My Advice is to install MetaMod and Source Mod Here is a link for a walk through since your renting all you need to do is follow the Sourcemod/Meta Mod Part at the bottom.

After you install that you can setup your admins in the file

/insurgency/addons/sourcemod/configs/admins_simple.cfg

You'll need your admins steam_id to properly verify them. After that is setup you can just go into the game hit ` it will pull up your console and type
sm_admin
that will bring up an admin menu for map changes,kicks,bans,etc.

As for the MOTD to my knowledge it only display while the map loads my second suggestion is to install the advertisement sourcemod plugin. It will display messages ever XX amount of seconds you configure it to. Here is the link to that

Ok so i followed everything it says to do but the one part where it says under the Sourcemod to type in SM_Reloadadmins in the server console when i do this through the Nfo server console it says unknown command then when i try to run the sourcemod and nothing happens on the serve etc i have everything install where it says to followed everything and for some reason still nada no idea what to do from this point on here....

What happens when you type "meta" in the server console?

Did you generate the appropriate vdfs for the game?

it just always comes back with nothing or unknown command line Unknown command "meta"

You need to make a VDF file for insurgency and put it in your addons folder.
