Useless Nullrouting from harmless attack

Post by mrzod01 »

my ip got nulled again from an attack, I am getting really frustrated because the attack does absolutely nothing to the in game, My firewall rules is blocking all the attacks, yet it makes internap want to mess my server over.

The attack was nothing, it had no effect besides the nullroute :(

my server never even lagged

You've been attracting 10-20+ Gbps attacks. Our mitigation system has been filtering them for you admirably (the firewall rules that you have on the VDS don't have anything to do with it), but some of the attacks have been so large that they've been causing problems for Internap's network at your chosen location, forcing null-routes. Null-routes are rare and you are the only of two customers whose attacks have truly warranted one over the last couple of weeks.

We can talk more in the existing support request. Publicly discussing further details about your private security situation is not appropriate.
